About

Hello, and welcome!

We are the twin sisters, McKayla and Vanessa, behind Mirror Twins Studio. Ever since we were little we’ve made DIY projects together. Whether we were sewing clothes for our stuffed animals, or making Barbie houses out of cardboard boxes, we couldn’t stop creating. This passion for art and crafts has led us to where we are today. From experimenting with new materials to designing our own original patterns, crafting has become a huge part of our lives—and now, this space is where we get to share it with you.

A little about ourselves

We are currently located in the Pacific North West in the lovely state of Oregon. We are both proud alumni of the University of Oregon. As identical twin sisters, we have had a long time to learn and grow together in life and starting this blog together was a no brainer! We love working together and hope to bring many fun crafts and original projects to life for you to enjoy. Everything we share is something we’ve created together, tested ourselves, and genuinely enjoyed making.

Why we started this blog

We created Mirror Twins Studio to share our ideas, inspire others, and connect with fellow crafters. Crafting has always been a way for us to relax, and have fun learning new things. We strive to make crafting feel accessible and fun, inspire you to try something new, and help you create things you’re proud of. Crafting is very therapeutic for us and offers a space to simply exist and rest. In a world of mass production, handmade is truly heartmade. We love how universal crafting is as a hobby and that with minimal materials, you can create amazing projects. Materials we often enjoy crafting with are felt, beads, ribbon, paper, cardboard, and more. The art of crafting is for anyone and everyone willing to give it a try. We started this blog as a way to create a cozy space on the internet where we could grow a fun crafting community and share our free patterns and tutorials all in one place.

We’re so glad you’re here and can’t wait to craft along with you.

Feel free to explore, try out our projects, and make them your own. And if you do, we’d love to see what you create! Tag us in your creations on Instagram @mirrortwins.studio
